“so if I asked you about art, you’d probably give me the skinny on every art book ever written. michelangelo: you know a lot about him. life’s work, political aspirations, him and the pope, sexual orientations, the whole works, right? but I’ll bet you can’t tell me what it smells like in the sistine chapel. you’ve never actually stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceiling, seen that. …you’re a tough kid. and I’d ask you about war, you’d probably throw shakespeare at me, right? “once more unto the breach dear friends.” but you’ve never been near one. you’ve never held your best friend’s head in your lap, watch him gasp his last breath looking to you for help. I’d ask you about love; you’d probably quote me a sonnet. but you’ve never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. known someone that could level you with her eyes, feeling like god put an angel on earth just for you. who could rescue you from the depths of hell. and you wouldn’t know what it’s like to be her angel, to have that love for her, be there forever, through anything, through cancer… you don’t know about real loss, cause it only occurs when you’ve loved something more than you love yourself. and I doubt you’ve ever dared to love anybody that much.”—good will hunting (via sing-in-time)
“but I lacked the courage and she had a boyfriend and I was gawky and she was gorgeous and I was hopelessly boring and she was endlessly fascinating. so I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane.”—john green, looking for alaska (via sing-in-time)
is your tattoo finished yet ? could you maybe post a pic of it ?
Oh yeah! I can’t right now because I’m at work and that’s inappropriate haha but I willll. Something about it doesn’t quite “look finished” to me. I think it’s because I expected it to be completely filled and my artist thought my skin pigment should play a role in the coloring. In a few months I’ll probably go to get it 100% filled.
“I feel like men are more romantic than women. when we get married, we marry, like, one girl. cause we’re resistant the whole way, until we meet one girl and think, “I’d be an idiot if I didn’t marry this girl, she’s so great.” but it seems like girls get to a place, they just kinda pick… pick the best option or something. I mean, they spend their whole life looking for prince charming and then they marry the guy that’s got a good job and will stick around.”—ryan gosling, blue valentine (via sing-in-time)
